The first thing I did was decide I wanted to be serious about losing weight. So, unlike in the recent past, I was able to set my mind to the fact that I was going to work on making real changes this time, and that was that. I really wanted to win the first prize, but I struggled after the first few weeks keeping it going. The things that really helped me out were making better, healthier food choices. I cut way back on carbs, and I ate a ton of fruits and vegetables. I also cut back on my dairy intake and tried eating healthy proteins. I started off following Jennifer's 21 day plan, but I didn't stick to it exactly. (I wonder if I could have gotten first if I had, darn it!). Anyway, I was able to stop eating, even when I didn't think I was full, only to realized a few minutes later that I actually was full. I think waiting for a while gave my stomach time to tell my brain I weas done.
I stuck to my workout plan faithfully and added in boxing with Rolando, which was a fantastic, different workout that is a blast on top of Jennifer's great workouts. I think the idea of this being a contest kind of helped motivate me, too. My challenge is going to be to continue forging ahead to get to where I ultimately want to be. What will I do different? I think I will try to follow Jennifer's plan closer next time, and I also think I will try to drink more water than I did previously.I'm happy with my success, and am looking forward to a free month of bootcamp. Not a bad prize at all!
